| Three Clicks
Away |
In today's
fast-moving environment, the need to understand the complexities and
nuances of enrollment patterns is vital. In the DI system,
you are 3 clicks away from reviewing open enrollment data across all
your schools.
Follow this menu path: Enrollment History
> All Schools > Open Enrollment. Selecte a grade span
typical of several schools. At your fingertips you now have the
complete enrollment patterns of all your schools in one
easy-to-view, shareable report.

State Budget
Crisis
|
In what may
well turn out to be the worst state budget crisis yet, we want to
help in whatever way we can. Awareness of how key assumptions and
underlying factors impact your enrollment projections is more
important than ever, particularly with so many variables outside
your control. Here are a few ideas:
- Look at the Sans
Development report if your district has proposed
residential development,
- Use the conservative
study for budget planning and for staffing,
- Invite DecisionInsite
to make a presentation to your Board regarding the Enrollment
Projections,
- Request DecisionInsite
to prepare a third more customized study,
- Review carefully your out of
district projections in light of actions neighboring
districts might take,
- Incorporate enrollment forecasting expense in a budget outside
the general fund.
Talk with us about other ways you can
take advantage of the DI System
and the other resources at DecisionInsite,
especially in this difficult budget and planning environment.

Frame a
Question; Find an Answer
|
If you can
frame the question, chances are the DI system
can help find an answer without having to sift through dozens of
pages. As an example, a superintendent recently posed the
following question: "Suppose the housing market goes into a total
stall. What will our enrollment be?"
Your DI system
can find the answer effortlessly and efficiently. Simply
follow this menu path: Projections >
District-wide > Sans Development. In this report
you'll see the ten-year projections for your district minus any
proposed housing development.
And, as always, that report is
just a few clicks away from your next Powerpoint presentation or
Excel spreadsheet!
