IDEAS—Small District gives you access to many of the powerful features available in The DI System, plus the enrollment forecasting expertise of the DI team.
IDEAS—Small District includes:

Our experts generate five-year district-wide and school-by-grade enrollment projections each year, plus open enrollment history reports. These projections are incorporated into The DI System so you have online access at all times. See an example
How DecisionInsite Determines Enrollment Projections at the District and School Level
- Access to The DI System
Our unique, web-based application allows you to:
- Quickly access the demographic data you need, including enrollment projections
- View information in attractively formatted charts, graphs or interactive maps
- Analyze numbers and multiple scenarios with a variety of easy-to-use online tools
The DI System includes several useful features for small districts, such as:
- Student Plotting: Plot the locations of your existing students on a map. Plots can be done by school, ethnicity, SDC or by new to district. Use Student plot to analyze which neighborhoods students are drawn from, or in which school they are enrolled.
- History of state enrollment data: Review the enrollment counts your district submitted to the state by school by grade level.
- Mailing list generation: Generate student mailing lists on the fly. Need to send a special mailing to one neighborhood? Draw a polygon around it, set the grade range and school and derive the mailing list in minutes.
- QuickInsite demographic reports: Generate a colorful four page analysis of your community including current year and five year projections for population, households and families in the study area, as well as age, income, ethnicity, phase of life (generational) information and MOSAIC lifestyle segments. The report integrates data and colorful graphs to assist in providing you with ‘quickinsite’ into your community. See an example
- Tables and maps that can be copied and pasted into Excel, PowerPoint or Word: Quickly move data results from the DI System into Excel for further analysis or PowerPoint or Word for presentations and reports.
- Measurement Tools: Measure distances between two points, such as the path students must walk to school. Acreage and square miles are automatically calculated whenever a geographic area is selected, whether the area is preset such as an attendance area or a custom drawn area.
The following features and services are available for an additional cost:
- School Locator: Provides a way for parents to look up assigned neighborhood schools from a link on your website. See an example
- Open/Close Schools Package: Build into the school projections plans to open or close a school.
- Open Enrollment/Out of District Transfer Package: Incorporate into the enrollment projections the impact of intra-district transfers and incoming inter-district transfers.
- Residential Development Research: Discover and document the proposed residential development plans that fall within your district boundary. Learn more
- Additional Projection: Develop a second, less conservative projection more suitable for facilities planning.
